Privacy notice

Last updated: 12 October 2026

Short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and tracks nobody. Nothing about you reaches us unless you contact us, and what you send stays with us. We do not pass it to anyone else unless you ask us to.

Who we are

Laser Cleaning South West is run by Michael Stevenson, a sole trader based in St Austell, Cornwall, and registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (registration ZC115961). Michael Stevenson is the data controller for anything you send us. Contact us at mick@lasercleaningsouthwest.co.uk.

What we collect

If you use the enquiry form, we collect what you type into it: your name, a phone number or an email address (or both), what needs cleaning, whether you want a cleaning job or a machine demonstration, anything you tell us about the job, and the first half of the postcode where the work is. If you type a full postcode, only the first half is kept, because that is all we need to work out travel. We ask for the full address only when a job is booked.

If you arrived from an advert, the form also sends the advert's reference from the web address (for example a Google Ads click reference or a campaign name), and the page you sent it from. That tells us which adverts bring in enquiries. It is read from the address bar when you send the form; nothing is stored on your device.

The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that an enquiry comes from a person and not an automated program. To run that check, Cloudflare handles your IP address and information about your browser. Turnstile is loaded on the enquiry page only. We do not keep your IP address with your enquiry.

If you call us on 07985 559775, we see your number and keep a note of the call and the job. If you message us on WhatsApp, we have your number, your messages and any photos you send. WhatsApp is run by Meta, under its own terms, which you accepted when you started using it.

If you email us, we have what you choose to put in the email: usually your name, how to reach you and the job.

This site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address to deliver the pages to your browser; we do not receive it or keep it. We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising pixels or any other tracking, and the fonts are served from this site, not from a third party. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Why we hold it, and on what basis

To answer your enquiry, quote, arrange and carry out the work, and, if you ask, to arrange a machine demonstration or supply a machine. The lawful basis is that you asked us to, as steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and the contract itself once a job is booked. We keep records of work and invoices because tax law requires it.

Who else sees it

Nobody else, unless you ask us to pass your details on. We will always ask first, and tell you who they are going to and why.

Beyond that, the only other parties involved are the services that make the site and the business work. They process data on our instructions and for no purpose of their own:

Some of these providers are based in the United States and may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they do so under the safeguards UK data protection law requires for international transfers.

We do not sell your details, and we will not add you to a marketing list off the back of an enquiry.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while the enquiry is live and for a reasonable period afterwards, because people often come back to a job months later. Records of work we carry out, and the invoices for it, are kept for six years after the end of the tax year they belong to, as HMRC requires. If you want your details removed, ask and we will remove whatever the law does not require us to keep.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email the address above and we will act on it. If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this notice changes, we will update the date at the top. If anything new is collected, this notice will say what and which services handle it before it goes live.
